What I understand is that the American version is set up differently. 
It has illustrations at each chapter, as well as a different font. 
Also, anytime there's a note from one character to another, it's set in 
a different font than the rest of the page.

Of course, I'm only reporting what I've heard. I've never seen a non-
American version.
