bboyminn:

Since when has war ever been romantic or funny? Yes,
after the fact, people do write romantic and funny
stories about it, but when you are in the trenches
with bullets zipping over you head and the friend who
just yesterday saved your life has now had his head
blown off, there aren't many thoughts of romance and
very little to laugh about.

War, especially a vicious corrupt war like in the book,
is itself a dark, evil, twisted thing that is brutal
beyond belief.

To tell the story that needed to be told, I think
JKR was rather restrained.

But that's just me.

I agree completely… going from book 6 to the 7th…we all KNEW it would be
war… even my 12 year old neighbor and I knew it would be ugly.
