Geoff, referring to what Janette said, does the dryer part
of your combination unit actually work? Does it dry the
clothes reasonably?
As far as air drying or drying in an airing cupboard, how
does that work? It must take days to dry heavy clothes
like jeans. Plus, how is a person's house ever presentable
if their is wet laundry hanging all over the place?
Further if you have a family, then you probably go
though TONS of laundry. You especially go through a lot
of loads of laundry if you have a compact washer. How
can a person possibly find enough space to air dry all
that laundry.
Just a few general questions based on Geoff's and Janette's
responses.
As a side note; I don't think I've ever seen a combination
unit in the USA, not in stores, not in catalogs.
Just curious and anticipating all that lottery money.

PS: for the record, and for reference of our friends in
the UK; since Janette mentioned the cost of Electricity
in the UK. I live in a roughly 1100 sq. ft. 2 bedroom
with a full size washer and electric dryer. The Electric
is about $42/month and the gas is about $97/month. Cut
that in half to get the equivalent in British Pounds.
68ºF room temp, and mostly florescent light bulbs.
