listened to it as well, and they both pronounce it the same way, so I
guess no Alishas in the UK :-)! I doubt it though that Alicia is

thanks, zanooda. I thought so. I mean, I didn't think Alicia could
possibly sound like Alice (AH Lis ee uh). I assume it's Uh LISS ee
uh--the first and last syllables are schwas and the "i" is pronounced
as in "machine," more or less a long "e" unless someone can come up
with a better rendering.

Carol, who still pronounces the name the American way as she reads
