Geoff:
This is because the Scholastic editions have been translated 
into US English whereas the Bloomsbury copies are in their 
original language.

Therefore the question which has arisen here is whether this was 
an editorial alteration; I would guess that this is the case.. There 
have been a number of occurrences such as this.

I think the Lexicon lists  many of them.
