Miles:
Chutneys are sauces used in the Indian cuisine. They are quite often 
sweet/sour and fruity, with spices like ginger, chili, coriander, ginger and 
so on. The texture is similar to marmalades, and they are fine as an extra 
to curry dishes, to meat, or "asian style" vegetable dishes.

Just try one with ginger, you will like it ;).
