Hi everyone --

Well, I was beginning to wonder whether we were all going to get
organized on this. Here's my situation: we always go to WurstFest in
New Braunfels in early November (it was our first date & we got engaged
there in 1992). This year, it is the first 2 weekends in November
(pretty much always is). If we go to Wurstfest *and* go to Austin for
the movie premier, it will be 2 weekends in Austin back-to-back with a 6
mth old baby. Not sure if that is going to work out or not. In any
case, I haven't ruled out meeting up in Austin with everyone, but I'm
not sure how either of us feel about either missing Wurstfest for the
first time in 11 yrs or travelling 2 weekends in a row to Austin. <g>

But, I'll chime in with some opinions in any case. :--)

You *cannot* go to chain restaurants in *Austin*!! No, no, no. There is
way, way too much local flavor to go that route. Mexican: El Arroyo,
Chuy's, Trudy's, Serrano's, Fonda San Miguel, someplace on 6th that I
never remember the name of, lots & lots of other good choices that I
can't think of right now but will recall later. BBQ: the Salt Lick,
Ironworks, County Line. General good food: Kirby Lane, Hula Hut,
Magnolia Cafe, Threadgills, Hyde Park Bar & Grill, Z Tejas ... I'll
think of others.

No, no, double no on anything chain in Austin, Texas. There's just
absolutely no need with the excellent choices available. :--)

I haven't lived in Austin in over 10 years, so I have no idea on theater
locations. I would vote for something with Stadium seating obviously.
My sister can give us some choices too -- she's a huge movie buff &
lives there. Also -- anyone else interested in seeing it several times
in a row (assuming it's not a total flop that we true fans will hate)?

Hotels -- I have no real thoughts there as we have so many friends in
Austin that I've never stayed in a hotel there before I don't think.

T-shirts: what's the progress on this front?
