Agreed, and they could have done with adding less material too.
Well, Rob say Hi a bit louder, we could barely hear you say something
about the movie. I'm sure you said more than that. Sorry I must have
missed the rest of the message... *cleans ears* maybe that'll help.
Yes the detail you mentioned would have been good left in. I'd like
to add:
1) That movie was a good MOVIE.
2) That movie was very rushed. From the opening sequence with Aunt
Marje, to the ending, to the space in between. Very rushed.
3) They added CRAP. For example, the stone throwing while back in
time, the buckbeak saves Hr/H from Moony while back in time, the
unnecessary shots of the Whomping Willow, etc, etc, etc.
4)That crap would have been better served for showing book details
omitted. For example, the Fire Bolt confiscating, seeing Prongs when
conjured while back in time, reading the entire lists of insults the
Marauders Map to Snape. Explaining the stag, and Moony's authorship.
5) The casting was EXCELLENT. I wanted more of Sirius and Lupin.
They rocked. Gambon also very good.
6) Draco, Goyle, Dumbledore, and Minerva extremely absent this film.
7) Book 4 will be terribly difficult to make into a single movie
smoothly.
8) Peter was too comically done for the drama during the Shreking
Shack. The S.S. was rushed and not scarey enough.
9) Lastly, the movie was good, but didn't hold a candle to the
greatness of the book.
What do you guys think?
*dodges all the stones thrown his way*
