I have found that virtually all of my "real world" friends as opposed to my
internet friends think it's a bit peculiar that a grown woman is really into "a
kids' book series". They've either seen one or two of the movies, maybe read
one or two of the books, took a kid to the movies, bought the books for a
kid, etc... Discussing the books and movies with them is strange because it's
just one more thing to them, and they either find it cute, amusing, irritating,
or disturbing that I am so interested.

But I don't fit in very well with the seriously hardcore fans either. If I'm
around people who are citing quotes by page and edition or who are having
these really heated discussions regarding what a particular character would or
wouldn't do, I just feel out of my league.

Tracy
