Hi all! Did you see JK (she prefers Jo) on The Rosie O'Donnell
Show today? It was fabulous! She seems very funny and charming, very
relaxed. She's very down to earth and said she still hasn't let it sink
in on how quickly the books became so successful. She laughed and didn't
believe her publishers when they called her about Harry being on the
cover of Time mag. She's still amazed about them being #1,2&3 on the NY
Times bestseller list. She gave us some insights on the next book, how
we'll meet new people from other schools of magic (maybe from the US,
hmm?) and how a few characters die but "only one we will give a damn
about." Rosie was concerned for Hagrid and Ron to which Jo said most
fans seem concerned about Ron since usually in films the hero's best
buddy bites the dust 'cause then it's personal but she wouldn't even
hint at who it will be, and boy was Rosie pumping her for it! She also
said she has completed the last chapter of the 7th book but wouldn't
give anything up.
Rosie had her read a passage from book 3 about the dementors which was
very chilling, it gave me goosebumps! I wonder if they will put these out
in an audio format? I hope the powers that be consider having her do it,
it's always more insightful when the author reads their own work.
Rosie then played Wild about Harry trivia with a 9 year old fan. Jo
read the questions (I knew them all, I'm so proud!) while Rosie was in
a sound proof booth they had made up to look like a train engine with
Hogwart's Express on the side <how cool!>, the kid got all 10 and poor
Rosie said Ravencliff instead of Ravenclaw but the audience still won
the Harry series and a super cool weird yoyo (the boy was a yoyo champ).
It was really a good interview, I hope she will do more TV. If any of
you hear about any upcoming appearances please let me know.

Oh, and Hermione is pronounced Her-MI-o-ne. <grin>
