 There's a great story on J.K. Rowling in today's (October 20) Washington
Post. You can see for yourself at:

 http://www.washingtonpost.com

It's in the Style section (with a great picture of a smiling J.K. at
breakfast with the reporter), but there's also a picture on the front
page of the people who got in line as early as 8:00 A.M. for a 4:00
P.M. book signing.

Some choice tidbits from the article:

To critics who think her books have too much evil and are too violent
for kids: "Don't read them."

She admitted that future books get "scarier," but when readers have
finished book #7, "they will understand."

All of the books have been outlined, and book #7 is scheduled for
publication in 2003. If I count on my fingers correctly, that means we
can look forward to one book per year from 2000 through 2003.

It was Warner Brothers who bought the rights to "The Sorcerer's
(Philosopher's) Stone," and the movie is due for release in
2001. J.K. said that she has final script approval!!!
