Hi:
Received the following message on harrypotteranonymous (egroups list)
yesterday and thought I should pass on the information in case anyone here
is interested. I've been following this fanfic series (it's now Chapter 3)
from the beginning and am enjoying it immensely. Note the warnings re:
adult content (it *is* as she says PG-13 but is still intended for an
adult audience).
>From Lori Summers:
Hello all! Your friendly neighborhood keyboard-pounder here, announcing
the third chapter of my ongoing story, which is quickly turning into
a huge long monstrous thing that might end up being as long as one of
the real
books. This is a problem I have: literary bloat syndrome.
When I announced the previous chapter I got a lot of requests for a blurb
or teaser so folks would know if they wanted to read the thing, so I've
written one:
**************
For Hermione Granger, life was stable. A mere nine years after her
graduation from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she has
just taken the prestigious post of Head Charms Fellow at the Institute of
Magical Academics. Her home is a charming stone mansion that is warm and
inviting despite being a bit of a fixer-upper, but she shares the upkeep
with her five amiable roommates: Justin Finch-Fletchley, Memory Charm
supervisor for the Division of Muggle Affairs; George Weasely, broomstick
test pilot and amateur chef; Cho Chang, professional Quidditch player;
Laura Chant, liaison to the International Federation of Wizards from the
country of Australia, and last but not least, Harry Potter, world-famous
vanquisher of evil...occupation unknown.
She has gotten used to having unanswered questions about the life of her
only surviving best friend: Where does he go when he leaves home for days
at a time? Why does he often come home injured and dispirited? Why can't
he tell his friends what he does, and who in the house knows more than
they're saying? These questions become more urgent when Harry collapses
from a magical attack, forcing him to share his secrets with his
roommates. Will Hermione be drawn once again into his world? Whatever
the outcome,it seems that her stable life will never be the same.

Obligatory Author's Note: This story is set fifteen years after the
events of Sorcerer's Stone and is intended for grownups. This means it's
not for kids. To recap, it's for grownups. I don't think it will contain
anything specifically *bad* for kids, but it deals with adult themes and
situations. It will contain violence, swearing, mushy stuff, references
to sex and may even eventually contain more than just references to it,
if you get my drift, though it will continue to be rated PG-13. So don't
be giving this
to your 9-year old nephew and expect it to be appropriate or expect him
to like it. That being said, I hope that *you* enjoy it, and feedback is
immensely appreciated.
Those of you who've already been reading it know that this story has
strong tendencies towards H/H shippiness. It won't always be that
way. Eventually it'll have a lot more than just tendencies. If that
turns you off, well...read it anyway, maybe it'll change your mind. Or
you could scroll through the shippy parts...there's also an actual plot
to hang your hat on.
