Here is another activity idea I had, to do while waiting your turn with
the story, or for those who chose not to sign up.
Since joining Yahoo, the Games board has renewed my love of cryptograms,
so I thought I'd make up some HP ones. I have taken a quote from each
of the books, including the speaker, and replaced each letter with a
different one.
Example: MDSSB LZQQAS = HARRY POTTER
The object of the game is to find the quote, and the speaker. No need
to know who is being spoken to, or the situation or context, though it
may help in solving the rest of the puzzle.
Each quote in this post is a separate puzzle. That is, if, on one puzzle,
you change an "B" to a "T", then all instances of "B" *in that quote* will
also be "T". But the Bs in the other quotes will not necessarily be "T".
E-mail me at melaniem68 at yahoo.com with your solutions or any
questions. I'll post the answers in 24 hours, along with the
winner(s). The winner will make up the next puzzle. If there is more
than one, I will randomly pick from among them.
Good luck.
Melanie
