I think you're right on the money. The reason for that is Karkaroff's
behavior. He really seems like a coward to me. The way he up and fled
seems to me that he's scared. Snape on the other hand seems to be facing
this head on regardless of the consequences. As my DH(naraht/Randy)
has pointed out to me, Snape never leaves Hogswart.
