Hello Nor,

No need to apologize for your thoughts: they were very good ones! Also,
we needed to get back on track and talk about the books rather than the
movie anyway.

I think that the appeal of Harry Potter for the grown up is for all
the reasons you listed: a good writing style (that isn't "dumbed down"
for a child), interesting characters (interesting to say the least!),
and the escape from the stress of the real world.

Many people (Muggles essentially) put down escaping into fantasy, but I
disagree with that opinion. In fact I think that adults may have more
of a need for fantasy than a child, because being able to escape for
a little while refreshes us mentally, spiritually, and even physically
(tension is bad for the body, too!). It's this return to innocence and
childhood wonder that I as a "grown-up" (well I'm only 22, but you'd be
surprised in this day and age how much childhood is eradicated from a
person that soon) am strongly drawn to the HP books.

What do you all think?
