"Anyway, apparently some store in NY had accidentally set out a copy and
they sold it (how stupid would the bookstore clerk have had to be??). "

This has totally confused me. I was reading in the paper yesterday about
the security precautions in place for the book. Armoured vans to transport
it to the shops. Why did this shop have the books so early? If security
is that important then sending the books out as late as possible is the
only option. Why when the books arrived were they not transfered directly
into a safe or secure area?

This is sounding more like a publicity stunt each time I hear it. The
title and covers come out two weeks before. A couple of copies get leaked
a week early. The story hasn't left the news in days. JKR seems to be
in every paper and on each news programme. Some of the most inspired
publicity ever, get the press to chase around and advertise the book
for you.

The reports have it that she will make 10million UK pounds next week. Not
a bad return! It is about here that I wish I could write a good book,
or series!
