The tip off for me is that Crookshanks had been in the pet shop for
a very, very long time.... I seem to remember an unsual period of
time.... before Hermione was mysteriously drawn to him.

Don't know who he is, but he is freinds with Sirius and hates Pettigrew--
he must be a blast from the past!
