"but she won't be receiving any awards for her PR skills"

Hmmmm. I see the point you're trying to make, but why should JK Rowling,
the author, need or want PR skills? She can afford to employ other people
to deal with that.

I'm certain she was embarrassed by the fact that she had to be jostled
away from the fans at King's Cross, but assume that the police and her
publishers had her safety in mind. I was there, and some of the people
in and near the press pack were behaving like trolls on a bender.

To me - and I don't know her at all - she seems a reluctant celebrity
who is uncomfortable with the media attention. Despite her huge success,
she is entitled to some privacy.

You express a negative view as required, but perhaps the Mail on Sunday
was looking for a critique of her writing rather than of her failure
to press the flesh and operate a fanclub? Personally, I wouldn't want
write anything with the brief "Down with J.K. Rowling".

Anyway, good luck!

Neil
