5) THE WANDS: Someone please help me on this one. I thought that the
spells came out of Voldemorts wand backwards, right? For some reason,
I was always under the impression that James Potter was killed /before/
Lily Potter. That Voldemort killed James and than came after Lily, who
was protecting the baby. However, since Lily came last, it means that
Lily was killed first, and /then/ James was killed, right? Have I got
this wrong somehow?

Also, about the wands, I think that we must assume that Wormtail used
Voldemort's wand to kill Cedric. Voldemort told Wormtail to kill Cedric. I
find it odd, though, that later Dumbledore tells everyone that it was
Voldemort who killed Cedric - or that Sirius doesn't go ballistic knowing
that Wormtail killed someone else /again/ for Voldemort.

6) I think there's a good reason why the cup had to be the Portkey. First
of all, I'm not sure they could see that far into the maze to know
that Harry was gone. Secondly, how can you turn a spell like mist into
a portkey? Or turn a spider into a portkey? You have to use an object
as a portkey, and I think most of the other things inside the maze were
all spells or creatures, none of which would have worked.

7) I missed Quidditch too!!! And I'm hoping that Krum will transfer to
Hogwarts as a student.

8) Rescue plots - well, these always are weak. I know Moody confessing
everything to Harry before killing him was very Scooby-Doo-ish. And
Dumbledore and co rescued him at the last minute, but it had to happen
somehow! I think Rowlings wrote herself into a hole before, too, when
she had the enchanted and wild car save the fearless three from the
huge spiders in the forest. That was another thin moment, but hey,
I'm not going to complain about it.

9) I was thrown off by the different opening too - I was wondering where
Privet Drive was. However, I think that the beginning started off the
story on the right note.

10) As far as the cost of the 'noculars over the price of the wand,
well - you know how expensive things are in stadiums! In American you
have to pay $3.00 for a hot dog at any baseball game! It's a rip off,
but there you go. (PS. You people doing the mathematics for the Wizard
money system have way too much time on your hands)

11) I'm surprised no one has said more about Ron and Harry's fight. I
suffered all through that, I couldn't wait for them to make up.
