I know this hasn't been mentioned since I joined. I just wanted to comment
on how well represented females are in Quidditch. In our "muggle" world,
it is very unusual to see boys and girls playing on the same sports
teams in the preteen and especially the teen years. In pro sports,
it's unheard of. I love the fact that Quidditch is a unisex sport at
all levels. Why, the prime position of Seeker on Ravenclaw is a female
(Cho Chang)! Now in GoF...

...even in the Quidditch World Cup finals, females seemed to be
well-represented. For example, two of the three dynamite Irish chasers were
females, Mullet and Moran. They took some rough hits from the Bulgarians,
but continually came back to score goals.
Personally, my fifth grade students loved the fact that the teams were
co-ed. When we played our version of Quidditch, the girls did well in
all positions.
Now, on the other hand...the veela...what a bunch of "harpies"!!!
