<<<But, you do make a good point about prior incantatum being the reverse
*spells* that were done -- so the spell that killed Lily was, it would
seem, cast *before* the spell that killed James, regardless of which
one of them *died* first. I hadn't picked up on that yet, but I'm not
that far in the re-read so I forgive myself. <g> >>>

This is all very interesting . . . .I have more questions than answers
now>>>>>
Believe me, if you did a reread of book one, you'd ahve even more
questions - in the room with the Mirror or Erised, Voldemort tells
Harry that his father was killed before his mother was, which makes the
whole Order of Coming Out Of The Wand even more baffling. The only way
I can think to reconcile it is that the order in which they come out is
the order in which the spells were done, not the order in which people
actually died. Then again, maybe JKR will come up with some explanation
that Harry's survival of whatever Voldemort tried to do to him jumbled
the way things went into the wand - it had to've because otherwise
there could've been a shadow of the spell he did on Harry in there which
backfired on himself.
This leads, of course, to 2 other questions:
1. Can a Prior Incantium only be done once?
2. How can we think it was the Avada curse which Voldemort did against
Harry & Parents, when it also destroyed the house, whereas on the other
occasions when it's been done (to the Riddles & to the spider) it didn't
cause any damage to the surrounding stuff?
