I'm not one for rpg-card games, if that is what Pokemon and Magic are. I
am fortunate enough to have avoided these fads by not having kids and
well having a husband that is far too interested in Todd McFarlen and
Star Wars. However if it could be set up like the Final Fantasy 8 card
game that would ROCK MY WORLD!

A very short yet complicated explaination of the FF8 game follows you
could stop reading here.

In FF8 the cards have four numbers in the upper left hand corner each
different or the same as the rest (1-A, with A being the highest),
like north east south and west, and they are played in a field of 9
(three across and three down) As the game progress cards are "flipped"
(possession is changed) depending on the rank of the number in the
corresponding corner. For example if the card in the upper left hand
has a 5 to the east and a 9 to the south the card in the middle would
need to have a 6 or higher for the opposition to "flip" it and the card
below would have to be an A. It's not as complicated as this may make
it sound... But with each new deck or person that plays new rules come
up. Each house could have thier own deck, and "trump" cards could be
created for those outside of the houses (Dumbledor and Hagrid.) Hmmm.

Unfortunately I think that this might ruin Potter as kids can only be
interested in the books now and so to converse with people they need to
read they cannot just play the game. I think that the game could be a
double edged sword. I would hate to see it ruin the series.

Is this enough of a response?
Jess ;-p
