Everything JKR shows up matches up with those numbers, EXCEPT 200
Slytherin supporter and 600 Slytherin opposers at one year's final
Quidditch match and the size of the castle's dining hall -- but think how
tiny the population of wizarding Britain (maybe plus Ireland) must be if
there are only 40 people born each year! I think there are probably 30
to 40 new students each year in each House, but they were editted out
for novelistic reasons. Um. If 150 people are born each year and they
normally live to age 100, the population would be 15,000....
