I wondered about the second point you raised about the Pensieve. I believe
that either 1) Dumbledore's Pensieve is his own personal Pensieve and
therefore only to contain his thoughts (not that Harry couldn't get one
as well). Or 2) by placing a thought into the Pensieve essentially the
thought is removed from the person (silly I know). Dumbledore wouldn't
deny Harry from maintaining this memory, horrible as it may have been.
