Hi:
Well, I agree with Trina for the most part. I like Percy, despite his
Type A, over-achiever, busy-body personality. I think he's *alot* like
his mother. He is quite protective (and proud of) his younger siblings --
he's demonstrated that several times. But, he sure annoys them no end,
doesn't he?
Some of what I'm going to say below is from GoF, so I'm putting in a
spoiler warning and some good ol' spoiler space

If our guesses re: the age gap between Percy & Charlie are correct
(and that there's 8 yrs or more between them), then Percy is really the
"eldest child" of the 2nd Weasley family (Percy, twins, Ron & Ginny). This
would explain all his Type A traits.
He's ambitious, but GoF certainly proved that he's not the only Weasley
with some ambition. He's more of a conformist though than any of his
siblings. And, as has been pointed out, his ambition & single-minded
adherence to rules & authority could prove disastrous for him in later
books. I think Percy will be faced with some serious conflicts later; it
strikes me that there will be a split within the magical community and
that most of the Weasleys will go against Fudge et al. Percy's career
at the Ministry and his family loyalties may be sorely tested before
all is said & done.
Any bets on the status of his romance with Penelope? Is she still at
Hogwarts? No mention of her in GoF.
