Hi:

<<<I've been thinking about the problem of the Muggle orphanage. Isn't
it odd that the wizarding people live longer than the Muggles but there
were no living relatives left to take care of Tom Riddle Jr ?>>>

I've been wondering about this - Catlady & some others have also suggested
that wizards live longer than muggles. How do we know this?

Tom Riddle Jr. says that his mother lived only long enough to name him --
so I assume her death had something to do with childbirth.

<<<As for Harry being related to the Weasleys, wouldn't *that* sound a
*bit* too cliche ?!>>>>

I think so! I'm definitely not an adherent of the "Harry is a relative
of the Weasleys" theory. IMO, the connection between Lily's red hair &
the red hair of the Weasleys is pure coincidence. Red hair isn't *that*
uncommon amongst the general population.

My opinion is simply that I suspect JKR has a plot device or two up
her sleeve that will be a surprise to the vast majority of us when we
finish Book 7 -- she's surprised most of us with the previous books,
has she not? Or am *I* the only gullible one? <vbg> If her plots were
simple or endings obvious or cliched, would the books have achieved this
level of popularity, particularly among adults like us?

Just my $.02 --

Penny
