Maybe Quidditch has an equivalent to the "Fifty Move Rule" in chess -- If
50 moves are made without a capture or pawn move the game is automatically
a draw. So maybe after a certain about of time without a capture of the
snitch the game is automatically drawn.>

When they are talking about quidditch in the build up to one of the
games , I think Harry's first, they mention a game that went on for 3
months when they had to use substitutes!
