I was listening to an oldies station on the radio yesterday and
some strange thoughts came into my head. Sort of like that song on
Sgt. Peppers - I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in and stops my
mind from wandering...
Anyway, I had some visions in my head when the music was playing and
trying to place the music in a Harry Potter movie. I guess it's my own
version of the movie sound track.
I thought the movie could begin and end with the Cat Stevens Song "
Oh Very Young what will you leave us this time..."
Another thought came when they played the Beatles song called "The End"
from Abbey Road. During the song Paul, George, and John start playing
different leads on each of their guitars (sort of like a contest). The
guitar leads create musical tension which represents conflict. There
is a crescendo and the song ends with a nice melody which represents
resolution of the conflict. The music reminds me of the Harry Potter
encounters with evil at the end of each book and the resolution of the
conflict fits the song I just described.
The movie could have a close up of Hermione at some point and have
"Witchy Woman" by the Eagles playing in the background.
A seen with Mrs. Weasley at their house could have "Lady Madonna"
playing in the background.
Hagrid comes riding in on the motorcycle to "Born to Be Wild" by
Steppenwolf.
Lord Voldemort gets zapped to "I can't get no Satisfaction" by the
Rolling Stones.
Ron Weasley and Harry are talking on the train to the tune of James
Taylor's " You've got a Friend". I think that was actually written by
Carole King.
The Quidditch match in Book Three could end to the tune of "We are the
Champions" by Queen.
I could go on forever.. Anyway, Does anybody else hear songs that would
fit the movie?
