tend to have intelligent discussions about them, they ARE intended for
kids. I'm pretty sure that makes us fanatics.>

Well, they are marketed to kids, but don't forget that JKR has said
that she wrote the books for herself (as an adult). I don't think
she's surprised at the adult following. The main characters happen to
be children, but I think they are intended for everyone (or certainly
have appeal to all ages in any case!).
