Ok. Can't resist.
You recall how horrid your parents looked putting those crochet'd sweater
vests over top the loud polyester wide lapeled shirts with the original
bell bottom hip huggers and 7 inch platforms before they went out to a
peace sit-down.
You recall the first day Sesame Street came on the air.
Sonny and Cher was the last show you could watch before being sent off
to bed.
The red, white and blue for the bicentential started getting on your
nerves after 6 months of it.
Your bedroom was painted bright orange with brown trim.
You owned a Foot rug, in lime green.
You owned a Pet Rock, and still have the box and "straw" along with the
instruction book (that rocked!) that came with it.
The Fisher Price People were your friends, and you were astonished when
they came out in plastic!
Sid and Marty Kroft shows on Saturdays on ABC were one of your favorite
shows to watch! You also watched one show about Hats, a Jeanie, and
a magician.
The Nickelodeon Saturday morning flashbacks bring groans when you see
Sigmund the Sea Monster, Gary Olman (prolly spelled that wrong--that
Different Strokes kid) as an Angel, and a brunette Jeanie in a corvette
with a high school football player.
You remember being excited by Barnaby, Romper Room, and Mister Rogers
(his first runs). Zoom was brand new, and their rugby's rocked!
Nancy Drew, yellow backed, and Trixie Belden were your book friends,
along with C.S. Lewis's Narnia.
Just a few...
Oh, gotta say this one:
You remember that new band QUEEN's 45 of Bohemian Rhap!
Grinning,
Dee
