I read the Magic Kingdom books as well, but I found they started to get
irritating after a while. Something about Terry Brooks' style, I think.
Has anyone watched or read Neverwhere? It's a British miniseries and also
a book (which I haven't read). It has a lot of the same flavour as Harry
Potter--it's set mostly in a world that (like Diagon Alley etc.) operates
"behind" London.
I also recommend The Neverending Story (the book is much better than
the films, as books made into films usually are--another example is The
English Patient).
Naturally that's not the extent of the fantasy I like, just the examples
that are most likely to appeal to HP lovers!
