"Lupin says that werewolves are a danger only to humans; so why is Hagrid
worried that Lupin ate Buckbeak?"
Maybe Hagrid is not that up on the care of magical creatures after
all. It seems he has given into the standard assumptions about werewolves.
"How can it be that on that critical night Lupin forgot to take his
potion, *and* "left the Map running" (so that Snape saw it), *and*
suggested manacling *himself* to Pettigrew? Does the full moon also
erode his Better Judgement?"
He was expecting something to happen that evening, and rather than
forgetting to take the potion he had just not yet had it. He then saw
Peter on the map and reacted instantly, letting his emotions get the
better of him. I just believe he was not concentrating on the issue of
the full moon but rather on the fact that one of his closest friends had
just been proved innocent and that another of his friends had 'come back
from the dead'.
"In the scene in Snape's office he says to Lupin "Don't you think [Harry]
got [the Map] *straight from the manufacturers*?!"
This has always puzzled me as the tome suggests that he knows that the
map was from Lupin and the rest. It could however be that Snape was
trying to say that Harry has been hanging around with those involved
with the dark arts.
"Does anyone else wonder if Cho's bevavior toward Harry during the
Quidditch match (tailing him, coquettishly blocking him, etc.) is a grim
forshadowing of what their romantic relationship will be like?"
I can see it as more likely being the other way round, with Harry
chasing after a girl that does not want him or is at least playing hard
to get. All part of the idea of 'falling for the wrong person'.
