When I was a child, I had an eight volume history of the world (title:
PICTORIAL TALE OF PROGRESS) that I *loved*. One night I dreamed that
I was reading the section on the American Revolution, I was reading
about John Paul Jones, and there was a detailed description of how his
original name was John Paul and he added the Jones when he ran away to
sea, as an alias because the reason he ran away was that he had just
killed a man in a drunken brawl. For *years* afterwards, I would leaf
through that volume trying unsuccessfully to find that chapteru!
