"I thought surely people would notice that she was 'developing' faster
than expected." [Hermione and time-turning]

Welcome Catlady! I like your name and your persistence with the message
board. Also, I thought I would respond to your time-turner comment,
since you're reminding us of past messages!

** Re Hermione, I assume that people travelling back in time enter
some sort of stasis when it comes to their growth. They can only resume
'natural' development when they return to their own time.

** You also mentioned Brits and air-conditioning, which made me laugh. I
spent most of yesterday morning wrestling with a portable air-conditioner
that looks like a dalek and amusing my secretary with the rather
phallic-looking exhaust pipe. I have to stick the exhaust pipe out of the
open window, because my office is a Listed Room and I'm not allowed to cut
a hole in the window pane. So much for technology. Give me magic any day.

** I enjoyed your comments about "Knight and Dame" and the Tony Blair
quote.

Neil
