Well, the first mission was a success, but later ones have shown what
inadaquate funding and a rushed timescale bring.

Besides, we could have personally visited the planet by now if we were
spending the money on advancing the space program instead of buying more
weapons to kill people with.

Of course, wizards probably have tea on Mars for giggles. :)
