"Unless I've got my facts wrong (again), Thomas Taylor did the artwork
for Philosopher's Stone, and Cliff Wright took over for CoS and PoA. So,
looks like they've switched back again."

This si interesting because the moment I looked at the picture I got
the impression it was by the same person as PoA. It could be that TT
has looked at CW covers and and decided to do something similar.

"pic of Harry standing in front of the Hogwarts Express on the front of
Book 1, and the picture that is supposedly the cover of Book 4. Perhaps
it just reflect the target age."

IMHO the picture of Harry in book 1 looks right but the ones for CoS
and PoA made him look much older than the 12/13 he is in the book.
