Good points Skimmel! I just noted on another HP listserve that I think
it's a bit strange to be debating long-term pairings for teenagers. They
probably *shouldn't* be making those types of choices at this juncture
(or even by Book 7 IMO). Although, I wouldn't object if they had paired
off as you suggested by the end of Book 7. I just don't think you should
assume 17 yr-olds have found "happily ever after." But, the friendships
could prove to be a solid foundation to build a relationship that will
be long-term and those romantic relationships could certainly be in
full-swing by the time the series ends. Maybe JKR will change her mind
and do a post-Hogwarts Harry series. <g>

I like your characterization of Cho Chang as perhaps a Ms First Puppy
