you know the first time I read that prediction it sound so much like a
hint to me and I think that you guys are right about it being a prediction
about Harry Potter defeating Voldemort.

but i have another question... was James Potter killed because he was
trying to protect Harry too? we know for sure that that's why Lily died,
that (she didn't have to die if she wasn't protecting Harry...)

It could be that the prediction made, specified one of the male Potters,
and that when Voldemort found out or discovered this prediction he set
out to kill James, and then Harry...

Why were all the Potters hidden, why not just Harry? Because if the
prediction was all about Harry then James and Lily would have given
him over to someone else to keep safe. But if both James and Harry are
targets than the whole family would need to be protected, hence the
secret keeper stuff.

So maybe the prediction that we are "guess-timating" to be the
reason Voldemort wanted to kill Harry for is not just about Harry in
specific. Hermione did say that predicitions, and fortune telling was
an imprecise branch of magic... maybe it was a very vague prediction
or maybe the prediction was so overly hidden in verse or word play that
Voldemort decided to kill both James and Harry just to make sure.
... what do you think...?
