I was discussing Harry Potter with my aunt (who is a fourth grade
teacher and the one who turned me on to HP in the first place) and
she told me that she'd read an article in a magazine that listed all
of the pronunciation for the character names. I didn't ask her about
Voldemort, but she said that "Hermoine" was pronounced "Her-my-oh-knee." I
never knew that before...I thought it was pronounced phonetically --
Her-moyne. Pretty cool, huh? :)

BTW, I like the Godric Gryffindor theory. It makes sense to me!
