dear Mr beckhorn,

I assume, that when you joined this club that you have already read all
three books and are not just waltzing in here scolding us on something
that you have not yourself experienced. We are not a group of people
encouraging others to join into witch craft or become pagans. Our
only concern here sir, is the literature. And from what I have read,
I see no indication of the author encouraging us to become witches and
wizards. The only thing that I can clearly see existing through all three
books is the simple message of self worth, the battle of good versus evil.

IF you must know, I am a Christian, and this book has no way pushed me
into becoming a witch or practicing magic. It's influence has only been
to provide me with a second chance of experiencing things as a child
sees them, adventures we dreamed of as children, not of devoting myself
to witchcraft.

This book is a story, not a bible. It is a story, it gives no insight
into what the universe is, or what gods to believe in.

what of CS Lewis, was he not Christian? did he not write about Narnia,
a fictious place where travelling can be done through magic rings, magic
wardrobes. The goodness represented through a magical talking lion? what
of the fairytales you must have read as a child, cinderella, snow white,
sleeping beauty? what of the wizard of Oz? They are all stories that
involve magic.

I think that you must be careful in what you try to imply about the
Harry Potter books. It is a story not a preaching, and it will only ever
be that.
