<<No they are NOT a model Christian family, they are terrible, the book
makes Christians out to be bad that is the POINT!!!!>>

First of all, I'm not quite sure where you get the notion that
the Dursleys at all represent a Christian family, whether model or
not. Nowhere in the 3 books so far is there ever mention of them
attending church or proclaiming that that is what they are. It seems
that the only basis for your theory is that most families in England,
US and Canada are Christian so therefore the Dursley's must represent
Christians. This basis is not a very strong fondation to stand your point.

Even so I do understand your concern of Christian families being portrayed
as evil or bad or mean, (eventhough this isn't the case here in this book)
But you must agree that the family, whether Christian or not, is quickly
losing relevance in this society. We have often seen or experience
familial breakup. But I think we sometimes hope that it isn't so. So
what do we do? pretend that our families are alright, that nothing's
wrong. I'm sure that there are many books out there (that i'm sure you
disagree with) that show a christian family as disfunctional. But these
books aren't brought to print to say that "WE THINK CHRISTIAN FAMILIES
ARE BAD AND DON'T WORK"
they are saying that, "yes, even in Christian homes, we are susceptible
to breaking down. What are we doing about it?" Most of these books are
bringing that problem to light.

but, seeing as the Dursleys represent more the style of family found in
Cinderella (Evil step mother and step sister) and not a Christian family,
there is no reason for you to even suggest that this book makes Christians
out to be evil....
