Who was the Japanese general who famously remarked, after the 1941 bombing
of Pearl Harbor, "I fear we have awakened a sleeping tiger."  He saw that it
was a mistake for Japan to provoke the United States into war, even though
at that time the USA was a lightweight as "world powers" go.
