I see Dumbledore as being the Lieutenant Columbo of wizards: He puts
on the facade of a bumbling weirdo in order to give his enemies a false
sense of security.

I think one of Harry's major character flaws is that he seems to distrust
his elders, even the trustworthy ones (the tragic result of years living under
the same roof as Vernon and Petunia Dursley)...
