>That's when I began to wonder whether or not there would be a musical
>soundtrack for the Harry Potter movie.
Yes, I believe there will be. It appears that John Williams is doing
the score. He would not have been my first choice
but he is a
respected composer (if a little old now) so knows what he's doing.
>It would be great to have a soundtrack with not only a great score,
but also positive lyrics written and sung by today's celebrities.
Not always a good thing
soundtracks date movies. To give the
film a
long lasting shelf-life, a score without any lyrics would be better.
However, I also feel that a few songs would not go far wrong
and
my
favioute duo for that is Tim Rice and Elton John.
>I can see Warner Bros doing something like they did for therecent
Batman movies (bad films, interesting soundtracks)
Batman was done my Danny Elfman
my personal choice for composer
for
the HP films. For those of you who do not know Danny's work
he did
Edward Sissorhands (you must have seen the Channel No5. Advert with
the Wolf), Bettlejuice, Mars Attacks and more recently Sleepy
Hollow. I think Dannys stile would have been great for the HP
films, but alas, we have the Star Wars composer.
Ø and choosing 2-3artists who are very popular with people in
different generations to do thesongs which are released as singles -
or they could ask a british boys grouplike Boyzone (are they still
together) to do the title song.
Oh no
Elton John would be fine, he appeals to both parents and
kids
(see Lion King, Eldorardo)
Ø On a realaudio note, Peg, it would be great to see some of those
links.
On a real audio note
I have a RealAudio capable webhost, so
could
host .RAM files if needed. - though only two connections can listen
at a time.
Also music wise
maybe we should all hunt out what music we think
would be nice, and if possible locate some MIDI files of them - so
that others can hear.
Ø the posters of the books we have hanging in his room.
Posters
me want, me want. Where did you get them from? I
haven't
found a way of getting ex-display stuff here in the UK yet.
Nick.
