This always bothers me a bit - Why do they give him anything at all? Surely the 
insult takes more thought than nothing? (but it is funny!)

How do we know she doesn't think of the house elves - she has long since given 
up not eating as a protest (or are you joking and I'm taking it all FAR too 
seriously?) Hermione must keep the faith!
