My first description of the books to my husband was as "fair mysteries,"
meaning ones where you actually can figure it out, you are given the facts
you need. Not to be confused with the ones where you find out the vital clue
*after* the solution is revealed, which only piss me off. So yes, I've seen
the parallel, and yes, I've wondered if it will be such a consistent pattern
that it doesn't work as well.
