Doesn't mean he likes the idea.  In fact, he chose not to be in Slytherin
precisely because he thought of it as the Dark Arts House.  And was anxious
about not belonging in Gryffindor in CoS for the same reason.

I think his train of thought was something alnog the lines of "I don't want
to be a Slytherin because I might turn into a dark wizard".
