Actually, I've always been impressed by JKR's casual and natural inclusion of
variety. It was never directly stated, but I took Lee Jordan to be black,
Angelina certainly is, and Parvati and Padma are Indian (India, not red). What
other major ethnic minorites would show up in a random sample of British kids?
(I really don't know, not trying to inflame anyone). I thought it way cool that
she saw no need to foot-stomp "Here be minorities!"; but instead treated their
inclusion was something so appropriate as to not need mention. Or much mention.
