My 2 knuts on various recent threads.

I think that the reason why Dumbledore wasnt the Potters secretkeeper
is that the good guys knew that Voldy was likely to go after the
secretkeeper and torture him. Sirius Black was willing to die to
save his friends; he thought (mistakenly, of course) that Peter
Pettigrew was too. Dumbledore was too valuable a person, as head of
the anti-Voldy army, to risk.

I think that the reason Snape hates Harry so much, aside from the
fact that he hated James Potter, is because of Trewlaneys first
prediction. I have always thought that Trewlawneys first prediction
was that Harry Potter would bring about Voldys downfall. Snape
really wanted to redeem himself by being the one to do this; he
wanted the glory, the Order or Merlin First Class, the recognition
that goes with being a hero. Instead, he has to help the son of his
least favorite person, who is famous while still a baby, stay alive
long enough to destroy Voldy and become a far greater hero than Snape
could ever hope to be. (In addition I like the *he hated James
because he was in love with and rejected by Lily* theory; it fits in
well with my theory.)
