Harry's Family History

Harry may not want to know more about his parents - he may find it 
too painful to think about.  In SS/PS, he drags himself away from the 
visions of his family in the Mirror of Erised by telling himself that 
if he wants to help win the Quidditch cup he cant think about the 
past.  When he takes out the photo album (in PoA) to look at the 
pictures of Sirius, it is implied that he hasnt looked at it in 
awhile.  Maybe he is purposely avoiding learning or even thinking 
about his past, because it is so painful to think about that it would 
interfere with his life at Hogwarts.  Maybe when Hermione comes to 
him and says *I just read The History of the Dark Years by Portenia 
Forebodius and it says that your parents.....*  Harry tells her to 
shut up.
